Generally, just about everything and anything that you ever wanted to know, see, read, listen to or whatever can be obtained via the ol’ interweb. I like to think of myself as a sort of internet guru when it comes to searching and finding information and such. Every once in awhile, however, I get stymied.
A couple of years ago when The Rick And Bubba Show was not on AM radio and could be heard clearly the wife and I were avid listeners. I enjoyed their brand of low-key comedy, amusing anecdotes all mixed together with a Christian message that was not shoved down your throat.
The boys at Rick & Bubba are pals with many famous people and have several regular musical guests. One of these recurring stars is Christian music artist Kevin Derryberry. His music is not my typical fare but he is quite talented and sometimes has a song that tickles my fancy.
One day all those years ago Kevin was on the show along with some other artist friends (former members of the Alabama rock band Brother Cane). Derryberry, with help from his buddies, played a song from a band he was in prior to going solo. The song was called “Birmingham Tonight”. The band, local to Birmingham I think, was called Telluride, not to be mistaken for the country band of the same name.
This song was great. It is a nice, heartfelt rock ballad that really had an 80s sound. I have been searching high and wide for not just the original track but I would settle for the radio recording of Derryberry and the boys from Brother Cane. Has anyone ever heard of this song or the band? I never had until Rick & Bubba mentioned them. If anybody can point me in the right direction I would be much obliged. I really want a copy of this song.

Well, I do love a challenge…
I guess you saw on kevinderryberry.com that the album
The Journey Collection Vol. 1 had a Rick & Bubba track… could be what your looking for.
Here is the myspace page for Telluride

which has Birmingham Tonight cued up to listen to.
I found a live session on You Tube. Is that the one you are looking for? I went through Google and keyed Telluride Birmingham. Was the second listing.
You guys rule. I really love this track.
