After all of this crap with Brett Favre considering retirement, then playing, then retiring, then considering un-retiring, then staying retired, then un-retiring (whew!) I have come to one conclusion. Brett is a major league ass-hat.
I, not unlike everyone else, held him in high regard. Statistically the guy was the best quarterback of all time. Obviously, many that came before him were better but that is another story. The guy was great and was lucky enough to remain free of injuries of his career. Hooray for him.
Here is the deal. He has come across, to me at least, as a douche bag. At the end of last season if he just would have said to the Packers, ‘Hey I don’t want to do the training camp thing but I will play on Sundays’, I bet they would have let him come back for this year. Let’s be real here. He is wishy-washy. The guy can’t make up his mind. That is what happens when you are an over paid jack ass that plays a children’s game for a living. They wouldn’t put up with his bull in the real world.
I call shenanigans on him…everyone get your brooms out to beat him. So he went to the Jets in a trade and I have to say if I was a Packer fan I would welcome the deal. Let the young gun get his shot. Brett only has a limited amount of playing time left and I question his commitment. My hopes are that the Jets suck a big one this season (I hope that every year, by the way) and that the Packers are the cream of the NFC.
It would be a hoot for me if new Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a stellar year. I am wishing for him to have a “Tom Brady” or “Peyton Manning”-type year. Please Jesus, let Aaron Rodgers win the MVP and take Green Bay to the Super Bowl…only to lose to the Patriots! (Yeah, like I am going to root against my boys!)
Anyway, history tells me that Brett will lay an egg and I won’t even mention the Madden Curse (yes, he is on the cover this year). For me I hope that if the Packers lay an egg, it will be a golden one.
Now maybe we can get back to real sports news.
