This year’s Fourth of July celebration will be a special one. The School Girl and I are headed down to W’boro. Her big brother, El Capitan, is on leave from his base in Washington state after arriving home from Iraq four weeks ago. It is also his birthday. I know it will be great celebrating the birthday of an American hero along with the birth of our great nation. It doesn’t get much better than that.

And it’s so neat that your brother-in-law and my dad have birthdays on Independence Day, don’t you think? Another friend of mine’s dad has a birthday on July 4th, so every year I make it a point to tell him to tell his dad happy birthday from me and I do the same for him.
