Scenes From Nashville: Will Hoge

So I may have mentioned once or twice on this blog that a few of us went downtown last Saturday evening to watch the wonderfully talented local rock musician, Will Hoge, perform live. My camera is MIA since The School Girl knocked it off of a 3 foot high table in a bar but SueBoo was thoughtful enough to send along her camera.

I didn’t take too many shots as it was “asses & elbows” inside. I did manage to get these:

Will Hoge

This is Will belting out one of his soulful tunes. Even though we were packed like sardines we did manage to get really close to the stage.

Will Hoge Band

Here the whole band makes their way to the mic to sing along. Second from left is hard hitting drummer Sigurdur Birkis who I understand did a little work with John Mayer back in the day. I got to meet and shake hands with this uber-talent of the skins after the show.

Josh & Will

Here little younger brother Josh Hoge (also a recording artist) jumps on stage for the finale, a rendition of the classic song “Ooh La La” by The Faces.

  1. [...] people.  This was extremely evident to me this past Saturday night.  As you may have already read, Leblanc, La Hermana, Michael TD, and I went to the Will Hoge/Jason Isbell show at the Cannery that [...]

  2. Nice Post
    Thanks for sharing

  3. All Will Hoge fans need to go to his website an leave get well wishes. Will was hurt very badly in a crash, when a van hit him on his scooter last month. He was in Vanderbilt Hospital in critical condition for some time, but is at home and in rehab now. he has a long road ahead to full recovery.

Read this part carefully. It’s hard to hear if you know Will. He had, among other things, 100 stitches in his face, two teeth knocked out and 4 facial fractures. Left eye was almost ripped out. He has since been to the surgeon, and all appears well with it, thank God. He had some kind of mesh drilled and wired into his teeth to keep them intact. His lips, nose, chest and both arms were cut. Four ribs were smashed on one side, broken clavical and both shoulder blades were broken. Broken sternum. Right femur was a shattered compound fracture and his knee cap was in several pieces. Add to all that, a collapsed lung!!!

As my husband said, it doesn’t seem a human could stand that kind of pain, does it? It breaks my heart.

However, he is getting well. He just needs support from this friends and fans. So, if you can take the time, please go to this link and leave your words of encouragement for Will. He’s such an amazing musician, but I know personally just how wonderful this kid is as a PERSON.

If you want to read the whole dialog, including both full posts by Will himself after the accident, you can read them here, too: http://www.edwinmccainmusic.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=446&p=1202#p1202

thanks! Hope you take time to leave him a message!
