Unexpected Gifts

Today was one of the few times I have been rendered speechless.  The mailman brought an early Christmas present today. Sometimes the best presents are the small ones.

Turtle Pen

It is nice when people remember the small things about you and care enough to send them. I am thrilled to add to my collection of turtles.  The Christmas spirit is definitely growing inside of me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the prettiest little girl on the planet. You are loved.

One Little Christmas Tree

I have been listening to some Christmas music as of late to help me get into the spirit. Sometimes I forget how wonderful some of these songs can be. There are those classic albums by Mitch Miller and Burl Ives. You could never leave out Nat King Cole or Bing Crosby. I have always enjoyed other greats by Beatles alum John Lennon and Paul McCartney. One of the CDs that I wear out is the soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas, I adore it.

One Christmas song in particular that really makes me stop and pay attention, one that will bring mist to your eye and a sniffle to your nose and make you want to go call your mom and kiss your spouse is one by none other than Stevie Wonder himself.

Here is the only snippet of this song that I could find on the web called “One Little Christmas Tree“:

I wish that I could share the entire thing with you. This is the one tune that may bring the spirit back to this old Scrooge. If you have the opportunity to illegally download purchase this song you need to jump at it.  What is your all time favorite Christmas song?

Here are the lyrics:

“One Little Christmas Tree”

One little Christmas tree was standing alone
Waiting for someone to come by
One little Christmas tree that never had grown
Cried as he looked up to the sky

Oh please Mr Father tree, the tallest of all
I’m so afraid and alone
Could one little Christmas tree so tiny and small
Light up someone’s home ’cause

One little Christmas tree can light up a home
So one little child can find a toy
One little Christmas tree can light up a home
So one little heart can find some joy

One little angel who was riding a star
Cried as she looked down at the tree
Oh please Mr Father tree wherever you are
May I give him the star you gave to me

Then in the heavens came a voice from afar
A voice that was heard throughout the world
Go down little angel girl and give him your star
Tonight he’ll light the world ’cause

One little Christmas tree can light up the world
So those who are lost may find their way
One little Christmas tree can light up the world
So all men may see you on Christmas Day
