NFL Week 9 Redux (Patriots Vs. Colts)

Last year I wrote this, running my mouth about how the Colts would get spanked by my New England Patriots. This year I have decided to be a bit more humble. Why? Because people don’t like loud-mouthed bragadocious people…and I don’t want to jinx my team.

The Patriots have been stellar this year at a perfect 8-0 and the Colts are also exceptional at 7-0. Either team has the potential to win this afternoon. I just hope that my boys can come out on the plus side of the victory.

By the way, if the Pats are lucky enough to go undefeated this season as many people are prognosticating, then I will talk it up big time. I just can’t see it happening.

Why Is It Okay To Offend Christians But Not Others?

This story kind of ticks me off. A New Hampshire couple is offended that the Pledge of Allegiance contains the phrase “under God” since they are agnostic. This couple feels so strongly against this cause that they didn’t even use their real names.

Their lawsuit contends the Pledge of Allegiance and a state law requiring its recitation in schools are both unconstitutional, because of the phrase “under God.”

Children shouldn’t be coerced to assert the existence of God, let alone allegiance to a supreme being, Newdow said in a phone interview Friday. By way of example, he suggests parents consider whether public schools could urge students to swear there is no God.

This offends me and it should offend all Christians. They are not requiring their children to even say the Pledge. They are just requiring them to remain silent. If this anonymous couple feel so strongly, maybe they should be so inclined to remove their children from the school and teach their kids at home.
