Today is the 12th anniversary of the date when the state of Mississippi finally ratified the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, becoming the last state to approve the abolition of slavery…only 130 years late. ~ Birthday wished go out to CHiPs star Erik Estrada (1949) and rapper Flavor Flav (1959).
Yesterday, not only was the Ides of March but the end of an era here at my job. It wasn’t just that our department was officially disbanded and shipped off to the land of Hindu but our coach and long time bank employee (holy crap 15 years!), Miss Catherine drove off into the sunset. She will be missed and we are all jealous that she gets to retire and we will be stuck in financial institution purgatory.
